IL CARRO FANTASTICO
Musical show
Il Carro Fantastico is a musical show inspired by the most important Italian carnival masks: Arlecchino, Pulcinella, Capitan Spaventa, Peppe Nappa. The music is by Antonio Vivaldi and Alessandro Ferrari.
Musicale structure
The music describes some scenes represented by masks from the Commedia dell’Arte.
Two distinct musical genres alternate: on the stage a group of chamber strings plays music by Vivaldi taken from "L’estro armonico" and in the pit the symphony orchestra performs the music of Ferrari.
A genre that serves to connect the various stories in a playful heraldic and fairytale style, perfectly recognizable by the Vivaldi sound.
History of the "Carro"
Written for the La Scala dance school, it was performed in ballet form 8 times at the same theater in the years 1996-97.
The choreography is by Luciano Cannito (well-known Italian choreographer) based on a text by Gilberto Crepaldi (ex-violist of the Teatro alla Scala)
The extraordinary participation of the singer Tiziana Tosca (Italian singer and actress) characterized the narrative genre of the show in full style of “recitar cantando” and, in this case, “dancing”.
